TLC Outreach Projects, a Table View-based non-profit welfare organisation, was given a framed T-shirt signed by Roger Federer, who won the public vote for greatest tennis player of all time. The NPO, that serves destitute youth in and around Table View, hopes to sell the piece of memorabilia for R150 000 or to the closest bid. The proceeds will go towards buying a new bus for the NPO. Their old bus, which is used to transport youth from informal settlements to rehabilitation and back, has broken down for good said TLC founder, Colleen Pietersen. Roger Federer signed the T-shirt at a private family gathering in Clifton, during his visit to Cape Town for the Match in Africa last month. The memorabilia includes a frame which is 780mm x 780mm in size, a signed Nike X Federer T-shirt, a plate explaining when and how it was signed and four photos of Roger signing the T-shirt.
