The College of Magic’s Children’s Magic Festival will be hosted at the college’s Victorian manor in Claremont from Tuesday December 14 to Saturday December 18, under the theme, Safari.

The 75-minute show programme will run daily, including on Thursday December 16, the Day of Reconciliation public holiday, at 10am, 11am, noon and 2pm.

Young explorers and their families are invited to dress up to the theme – as the Big 5 of the animal kingdom, courageous trackers, thrill-seeking adventurers and more.

Due to Covid-19 safety protocols, seating arrangements have been adjusted for an outdoor entertainment experience.

The festival will include an magic show performed by the college’s most talented young entertainers in their outdoor eco-theatre; a self-guided tour through the college’s century-old mansion; photographic keepsakes done with optical illusions, such as posing in an upside down room; and an opportunity for aspiring magicians to learn a new magic trick or show off their gaming prowess at one of the magical carnival game stations.

The Children’s Magic Festival, one of the College of Magic’s major annual fund-raising events, has been entertaining families since 1994. The College of Magic will present the 2021 festival in partnership with the City of Cape Town.

“We are excited to bring back our popular magical programme with this fantastic new format! It is the perfect holiday event for families wanting to share a safe and fun experience together. Book your festival tickets and join us,” says Chad Findlay, the College of Magic’s creative director.

Tickets for the 2021 Children’s Magic Festival cost R100 each and will be sold in groups of four for family bookings. Book through Quicket.
