The Glenn Robertson Band will perform on Saturday May 25 at the Nassau Auditorium, Groote Schuur High School, Palmyra Road, Newlands, at 6pm.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, after many years hosting Friday night music and jazz at Kaleidoscope’s venue in Claremont, and having had to relinquish the permanent venue, The Glenn Robertson Band embarked on a series of storytelling concerts, which started with Everything Must Change, which documented the post-Covid journey toward a “new normal”.
The second edition in the series was titled The Message Is Love, focusing on the various expressions of love.
Each season involves some storytelling, a repertoire of songs performed by the band that supports the narrative, and some multimedia.
They are are now putting the finishing touches on the third edition: Stronger Together inspired by the unifying example of last year’s Springbok victory in the Rugby World Cup. This concert hopes to explore the benefits of living and working together in unity as families, friends, communities, and as a nation.
Tickets cost R175 each for adults and R100 each for children aged 12 to 16 through Quicket.
