Arepp (African Research and Educational Puppetry Programme) Theatre for Life is celebrating 30 years of educational theatre programmes at schools all over South Africa this year.
They work in line with the Department of Basic Education and in conjunction with the life orientation syllabus. Arepp does plays at these schools and the shows are done in the language of whatever the predominant language of the school is.
On Monday July 24, Arepp was at Buuren High School and did two shows specially aimed at the youth and talking about the issues that young adolescents face. The pupils were given an opportunity to participate and ask questions about the shows afterwards.
