Donovan and Rene Gould, Melkbosstrand
Sweetpea was the name given to our little girl by the SPCA whom we adopted in May 2007.
I never knew the symbolism or meaning of what this fragrant flower is until we lost her on Thursday October 13.
The language of flowers associates the following meanings with sweet peas: blissful pleasure, delicate pleasure, good-bye, departure, adieu and thank you for a lovely time.
This flower encapsulates our little girl’s spirit in one sentence. I never thought we would go through the trauma of losing such a precious soul.
Our little girl has left a huge void in our home and family.
Sweetpea and our family would like to extend thanks to all the family, friends, colleagues, neighbours of Melkbosch Village, the Melkbosstrand community, Olive Close children, Animal Rescue centres (Uitsig, Peanut and Fallen Angels), Melkbos SAPS, Avenue Response, Prosurv and the many anonymous and caring people who prayed for us, supported us and searched the area without our knowledge.
To the road crew from Martin & East Civils, thank you for confirming her resting place.
We apologise if we have left anybody off the list, but the condolences and support have come from so many caring people across the continent and globe as far as Hawaii.
