Church on the Rise in Table View hosted its 13th annual appreciation ceremony on Sunday October 27. Themed “Finish Strong”, the service honoured, among others, non-profit organisations, SAPS, law enforcement, schools and service providers for the work they do in the area. Pastor Brad Espin commended those awarded with certificates for the “often thankless jobs” done in the community. “ “Every person contributes and adds value. We are stronger together,” said Pastor Espin. Tabletalk was also awarded for serving the community for more than 30 years.
Melodie Potgieter was awarded a certificate on behalf of the Nutty Knitters, a group which knits for charity.
An honorary award was given to radio veteran Ian Ward who lost his battle to cancer in September. The award was received by his son Tristan. Pictured with him is his mother Stacy Robertson.

Aziza Nolan was awarded for the work she does with her NPO, Peace Home.
Councillor Dr Joy McCarthy received an award for her service in Ward 113.
Vice-chairman of the Greater Table View Action Forum, Stephen Twine, accepted the appreciation award on behalf of the forum.
Sunningdale Primary school principal Estelle Dewit was awarded for her work as a school forum member and her work in the community
Councillor Nicky Rheeder was awarded for her services in Ward 107 and her work for non-profit organisation, Missing Children South Africa.
