Milnerton Players scooped two awards at this year’s Cape Amateur Theatre Awards, held at the Masque Theatre, in Muizenberg, on Monday March 5.
Milnerton Playhouse staged only three productions last year because of maintenance at the theatre, but the company still scooped the best set award for ART, and the cast of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change received awarded certificates of excellence for ensemble work and the car scene in the musical.
Laura Bosman’s production, The Full Monty was re-enacted at the awards between categories, and the “strip scene” from the production had the audience calling for more.
