Beach clean-up By Xola Qetsemani - Jun 22, 2021 Share on Facebook Tweet on Twitter Residents from all over Cape Town collected 40 bags of litter during a beach clean-up at Sunset Beach last Saturday to celebrate World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8). This Milnerton Ridge family joined clean-up. At the back, from left, are Tarryn Tichart, Sienna Tichart, Terence Tichart, Roanda van den Berg and Gerard van den Berg. In front, are Lukas and Tristan Tichart. The Mbayeka family, from Mkhaza in Khayelitsha, are, back from left, Ovayo, Sindile, Asange and Sisipho Mbayeka. In front are Ajabulile and Awonke Mbayeka. Shark Spotters, a non-profit organisation focussing on shark safety and research, was invited to join the clean-up. Taryn van Neel, of Shark Spotters, and her son, Jamie Alexander, live in Century City. Jandré de la Rey, from Shark Spotters and Century City resident, supported the clean-up. Morgan, Nicky and Steven van Stittert from Westlake.
