Birthday celebrations

The Girl guides at their birthday braai in Rondebosch.

Recently, Cape West Girl Guides kicked off their birthday celebrations with an informal braai at a Guide Hall, in Alma Road, Rondebosch. Past and current adult leaders got together to reminisce and catch up and tuck into a birthday cake. There will be many more celebrations throughout 2020. The movement continues to grow with Girl Guide or Boy Scouts associations found in 150 countries. In South Africa there are 500 units in 26 regions with about 18 000 members. Girl Guides are divided into five branches: Teddies age 4 to 7, Brownies age 7 to 10, Guides age 10 to 14, Rangers age 14 to 18, and Youth age 18 to 24.
