Between 1pm and 2pm on Monday February 26, I saw the refinery near Potsdam Road pump some yellow gunk into the air. It appeared to be sulphur, but I’m not sure.
Could you possibly find out what happened and what was released from that chimney? I do have some pictures.
The wind seems to be blowing in Dunoon’s direction.

The Chevron Cape Town Refinery can confirm that an operational incident resulted in visible emissions on Monday February 26. The refinery is currently undergoing its scheduled maintenance and safety inspection which started on Thursday February 15.
The plant is in a stable condition, and the cause of the incident is being investigated.
Chevron places the highest priority on the safety of our employees and the community in which we operate.
