Trefoil Guild members from Edgemead, including Maria Neagu, left, and guild president Cicely Holland, were among 280 women who broke the Guinness World Record for making the longest string of plastic bottle tops, at Old Mutual sports ground in Pinelands on Wednesday April 4. The previous record was 117 040 and the new record is 121 600, measuring over 1.3km. The Trefoil Guild are the retired women of Guiding who do various community service projects.
Bottle top record
The Tabletalk (formerly The Tabletalk and Mail) was established in 1987. This long established popular community title includes the key shopping centres Canal Walk and Bayside Centre within its distribution area.
