Police arrested a 28-year-old Joe Slovo man for burgling a Dolphin Beach house on Friday September 9.
Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler said officers responded to a call from the Table View Neighbourhood Watch shortly before 10am – a homeowner had alerted her security firm after surprising an intruder, who had now fled and was believed to be hiding under a nearby vehicle.
The officers found the man under the vehicle and arrested him. He had a device used to jam car locking systems.
* Two thefts out of motor vehicles have been reported at the Table View police station. On Thursday September 8, a woman reported parking her car at Boy De Goede Circle, at 2.30pm, and leaving her R9 000 Dell laptop inside.
“When she returned five minutes later, her laptop was stolen,” said Captain Chandler.
The following day, at 6.30pm, a woman parked at Marine Circle, in Blouberg, and “negligently left a laptop and clothing inside the vehicle”. When she returned 45 minutes later, the items were stolen. In both instances there was no forced entry to the vehicle.
