The 26th annual Cape Town International Kite Festival on behalf of Cape Mental Health will be held virtually this year from Saturday October 10 to Saturday October 31 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The theme is “Hope on the Rise – Invest in Mental Health” and the goal is to raise over R250 000 to enable the non-profit organisation to continue providing essential mental health services.
This year’s interactive event combines real-life kite-flying with online kite-making workshops, competitions and videos, and an online concert.
One of those who will be doing their bit for Cape Mental Health is Parklands kite-maker Brian Skinner.
Mr Skinner and his wife Beryl plan to fly at one of their favourite kiting spots at Dolphin Beach.
They are encouraging everyone to join them and buy a ticket to the virtual kite festival.
Tickets are R50 per person and to buy a ticket or for more information, click here.
