Champion inspires pupils

Champion trail runner AJ Calitz, seen with teacher Anna-Marie Hanekom and pupil Louisa Odendal, visited Milnerton Primary School at the end of August where he encouraged the children to never give up. In 2014, he ran up Table Mountain’s Platteklip Gorge almost 15 times to set a new Guinness World Record for the highest vertical ascent (11 020m) in 12 hours. He also holds the record for the fastest time up Lion’s Head with a record of 25 minutes and 45 seconds.
