The Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company will stage Hansel and Gretel at the Nassau Theatre, from Monday December 16 to Saturday 21, at 10.30am.
The theatre is on the grounds of Groote Schuur High School, in Palmyra Road, Newlands.
After each show the audience will be able to meet Father Christmas, who will be handing out sweets to all of the children.
Parents are asked to bring a present or a second-hand toy for an underprivileged child to put under Santa’s Christmas tree.
These toys and presents will be distributed to various children’s homes, safe houses and hospitals in Cape Town before Christmas Eve.
This modern take on the children’s classic play is adapted and directed by Elton John Duffy from Edgemead.
The show encourages audience participation and includes popular songs from Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, Jessie J, Aaron Carter and Pharrell Williams.
This production stars Desle Mc Conney from Athlone as Gretel, Buddy Bo Butler of Fish Hoek as Gerda, Jeremeo le Cordeur from Claremont as Hansel and Dean Van der Ventel of Goodwood as Rudi.
