Cape Community Newspapers (CCN), which publishes the Tabletalk and its 14 sister titles, held its annual Christmas party for educare centres and orphanages at De Waal Park in Oranjezicht on Friday December 7. The children hosted at this year’s party were from Adventure Kids Club in Maitland, Vuka-Nomtobhoyi Centre in Langa, Al Noor Orphanage in Woodstock, Ikhwezi Development Centre in Langa, Holy Cross Child Care Centre in Parow and St Anne’s Home in Woodstock.
The children had tons of fun on jumping castles, had their faces painted and were entertained by young magicians from College of Magic in Claremont. Later in the day, the children were given lunch and Father Christmas handed over their gifts.
“Our annual children’s Christmas party is a highlight on our calendar of events and we are incredibly grateful to all the staff who volunteer their time to assist, as well as the generous sponsors who make it possible for us to treat the children to entertainment, food and a special gift from Father Christmas,” said Cape Community Newspapers editor Chantel Erfort.
This year’s sponsors included Pizza Hut, KFC, Mega Coach and Springbok Atlas bus companies, Giant Hyper, Cape Cookies, Food Lovers Market, College of Magic, Age Africa and Little Green Beverages.
