The City of Cape Town responds to the letter, “What a waste of water”, Tabletalk, May 23:

The City of Cape Town has engaged with the customer and previously emphasised that it would appear that the leak was not the fault of the customer.

Charges on the account would therefore be reversed if the leak has had an impact on actual billed consumption.
