Table View police arrested three men who had 43kg of dagga in their home in Milnerton.
Table View SAPS spokesperson, Captain Adriana Chandler, said that on Thursday December 13, police were notified of a man selling drugs from his car at a garage on Koeberg Road.
The officers approached the man and searched the car with the man’s permission. They found dagga hidden in the glove compartment and the man was arrested.
Police then obtained a search warrant for his house in Rugby and there they found large quantities of dagga, sealed in vacuum-packed plastic bags, as well as a large amount of cash and arrested two more suspects at the residence.
The 43kg of dagga had an estimated street value of R175 000.
The three men, in their early 20s and early 30s, were charged with dealing in an illegal substance and were set to appear at the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Tuesday December 18.
Two men were arrested for housebreaking in Edgemead last Friday. According to Bothasig SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Jacques Mostert, a resident of Salem Street was alerted by his security company that his home alarm had been activated.
When he arrived home, he saw two men jumping over the wall from his property into the neighbour’s yard and he chased them. Edgemead Neighbourhood Watch, Edgemead Zone 4 Neighbourhood Watch as well as members of District Watch, ECP and Swart Security mobilised and locked down the area.
The two men from Delft, both 28 years old, were arrested with the help of all the stakeholders who responded and all the stolen property consisting of electronic equipment, jewellery and a large amount of cash was recovered.
The suspects were set to appear at the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Tuesday December 18.
