Melkbosstrand High hosted a talk by Ron Rutland who cycled through Africa on his way to the 2015 Rugby World Cup in Brighton, England. About 42 000km, 27 months and 75 countries later, he arrived in Brighton only to see the Springboks humbled by Japan. He was continually humbled and amazed by the kindness of strangers, the human spirit of ordinary Africans and the wonders of our misunderstood continent. He inspired pupils of Melkbosstrand High to dream big and live a life of passion and purpose.
