Recently I was given an iPhone. On checking my airtime balance, it was apparent that a small amount was being deducted daily.
In Off My Trolley (“Know your network technology to save data,” June 22 2016), you wrote an article on this subject. On reading the article again, I took your advice and changed the settings to 3G.
So far no further charges have been debited.
Shortly after I changed the setting to 3G, I had a text message from Vodacom offering me 1G of data for three days to use on my 4G!
