On Friday January 20, members attached to the Cape Town Cluster Crime Prevention Unit conducted a search at a house in Church Street, Brooklyn, after receiving information from a reliable source of possible drug dealing at the premises.
According to Maitland police communications officer, Constable Lorencial Johnson, the search resulted in the arrest of three Nigerian nationals inside the premises after the discovery of tik and cocaine with a street value of R182 000 as well as cash.
Various cellphones which may have been stolen were also discovered. The three suspects, aged between 32 and 36, appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday, January 23, on charges of dealing in drugs and the possession of suspected stolen property.
