Elderly Parklands woman hijacked

The cash found in the car of the man and woman speeding away from police.

Two men hijacked an elderly woman as she arrived home in Parklands on Thursday last week.

The men sped off in the car after pulling the woman out of it, according to Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler

A neighbour heard the commotion and called the police when he saw the woman lying on the ground in Devonshire Close.

The hijackers lost control of the car, and it hit a lamppost. They jumped out and ran off.

A security guard and members of the Parklands Neighbourhood Watch apprehended two suspects, aged 26 and 27.

A couple who ran a stop street ended up with more than a traffic fine after police found a lot of cash and suspected cocaine in the car.

Captain Chandler said officers had arrested the two suspected drug dealers in Table View shortly before 1am on Monday May 21.The officers chased the car after the driver refused to stop. They found the cash and suspected drugs during a search of the vehicle.
