Fikelela Aids Project will mark World Aids Day (December 1) with a 3km fund-raising fun walk on Saturday November 30.
The walk will start with the lighting of a candle, a short message of inspiration and prayers for all who live with HIV and Aids, survivors of gender-based violence and children at risk.
Registration is R50, which includes a goodie bag for the first 500 entries.
All proceeds will go to the Fikelela Aids Project, the Fikelela Child and Youth Care Centre, staff development and training, life skills training for young adults and parenting workshops.
Founded in 2000, Fikelela means “reach out” in Xhosa and is the HIV and Aids outreach programme of the Anglican Diocese of Cape Town.
The 3km walk starts at 9am at St Thomas’ Church, Rondebosch and will proceed through the grounds of Bishops College.
Take along your picnic basket; braai facilities will also be made available.
