Rakesh Manohar, Table View
Pictured is my son, Radhanath Manohar, a Grade 7 pupil at Table View Primary, and his initiative for a grey water project which has yielded successful banana, papaya and other tree growth.
A banana tree is steeped with religious, spiritual and practical benefits.
The fruit is edible, green in curry , ripe and in chutney; the leaves are used as plates; the flowers are used as stir fry and the deep inner stem can be used as a crunchy fried snack.
The bark can be used to tie up stuff as a string would.
Thus saving water plus gardening yielded some degree of success for us.
