Police seized four new 2016 Land Rover Defenders at a storage facility in Carlisle Road, Paarden Eiland, on Thursday July 21. Western Cape detectives attached to Bellville police are hoping to make a breakthrough soon in an investigation into the illegal export of vehicles.
“Fraudulent export documents were issued for the vehicles in Johannesburg while the vehicles were in storage in Cape Town. The vehicles, valued at R3 million, were destined for Malaysia and the UK. The investigation is yet to be concluded,” said Western Cape police spokesman FC van Wyk.
