A 21-year-old Lentegeur man was arrested in Bothasig last week after he was found carrying drugs, say police.
He was charged with being in possession of drugs.
Sergeant Reggie Mars and Constable Emile Saaiman were patrolling Bosmansdam Road just after 2am on Friday July 22 when they spotted the man acting suspiciously, said Bothasig police spokesman Warrant Officer Jacques Mostert.
“They then searched him and found drugs under his T-shirt, and he tried to run away but was stopped in his tracks.“
The man had been carrying 22 units of heroin, 15 packets of tik, four mandrax tablets and dagga, along with R130 in cash, said Warrant Officer Mostert.
