Organisations, businesses and residents from some of Tabletalk’s distribution areas celebrated Mandela Day, on Monday July 18, by giving back to their community. In Rugby, Ravi and Nalini Moodley, the owners of Caltex Priclo Motors, held a blanket drive in honour of Mandela Day and they gave blankets to their staff. Another 55 blankets were handed to the Eric Miles Cheshire Home for the physically disabled. In Brooklyn, Air Force Base Ysterplaat helped social housing non-profit company Communicare fix the Vulamathuba Learning Centre in Justin Street. Pictured is Corporal Michaela Koeries. In Table View, the Happy Hookers Seniors Club donated knitted blankets to needy children being helped by TLC Outreach Projects. A Lagoon Beach company handed out hundreds of sandwiches to children helped by TLC Outreach Projects.
