Metro police recover stolen car

The blue Ford Laser was found stripped in Philippi.

Metro Police officers receovered a car that was stolen in Milnerton last month.

According to Metro police media spokeswoman Ruth Solomons, the blue Ford Laser was found in a canal in Brown’s Farm, Philippi on Thursday June 21 at 7.20am.

The car had been reported stolen earlier this month.

“In May, officers recovered a white Kia mini truck and a gold Toyota Tazz in the same informal settlement.

“Both vehicles had been stripped and their parts removed. An investigation revealed that both vehicles had been reported stolen in the Milnerton/Table View area,” she said.

Police have arrested three people for dealing in drugs and two for murder.

Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler said that during a search for two murder suspects in Site 5 on Tuesday June 19, police noticed a man acting suspiciously.

The man ran when he saw police approaching.

The man was followed to a house where police found large amounts of dagga in a large blue drum.

Three men in their 20s were arrested and charged with dealing in drugs.

Officers also found the two murder suspects on the same night.

The two men were wanted in connection with the killing of a man in Site 5 on Friday June 15.
