I totally agree with Pieter Coetzee about the expense to rebuild the wooden bridge (“Bridge project ridiculous,” Tabletalk letters, December 7 2016).
I am rather surprised that there have not been roars of outrage at such a wasteful expense.
I can think of many other uses for that money.
One suggestion I have is to pay for extra staff at the municipal offices to enable the renewal of driving licences and car tax discs to be carried out without wasting hours standing in the heat.
As an octogenarian, I find it exasperating and a complete waste of everybody’s time. Also, how about some facility for the aged or disabled?
