A 53-year-old man was arrested after police raided a Killarney Gardens dagga lab.
Milnerton police spokesperson Captain Nopaya Madyibi said officers acting on a tip-off, seized 277 pot plants, 10, 10-litre buckets with processed dagga, 26 syringes and other drug paraphernalia.
The estimated street value of the dagga is not yet known. The suspect was charged with dealing in a dangerous, undesirable substance and cultivation of dagga.
He was due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday January 25.
Police arrested a 33-year-old mother on Tuesday January 23 for neglecting her child.
Table View police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler said the two-year-old girl was found abandoned inside a shopping trolley on the corner of Pentz Drive and Blaauwberg Road.
Police were flagged down by a concerned woman who had found the child in very poor condition.
Before contacting social services, police took the child to Tender Loving Care, an outreach project in Table View, where the officers found the child’s mother.
She was arrested and charged with child neglect and the little girl was handed over to social services.
The mother was to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Friday January 26.
Three suspected drug dealers were arrested in Table View.
Captain Adriana Chandler said officers pulled over a car in Arum Road on Tuesday January 23, just after 7pm. On searching it, they found a backpack with dagga, ecstasy tablets and other drugs as well as scales and cash.
The three suspects, aged 25, 30 and 31, were charged with dealing in illegal substances.
They were due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court today, Thursday January 25.
