One person was killed and six others injured when their vehicle crashed down an embankment along the N7 towards Malmesbury on Sunday morning, July 31.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said emergency staff found the vehicle a few metres down the embankment next to the highway.
Five women and a man had been thrown from the vehicle and a fatally injured woman was trapped inside. She was declared dead on the scene. Rescue workers had to use hydraulic equipment to cut her from the vehicle.
Paramedics treated the other six who sustained various injuries and were taken to hospital. It’s believed the driver lost control of the vehicle.
