Century City has a new state-of the-art security operations centre. The “nerve centre” is based at Century City House, from where control room staff monitor CCTV cameras 24 hours a day.
Chris Blackshaw, the CEO of the Century City Property Owners Association (CCPOA),said the control room was in direct contact with the police, council emergency services, two contracted City traffic officers, two law enforcement officers and the precinct’s own security services. Deputy mayor Ian Neilson officially opened the facility and called it a “brilliant initiative”. Mr Neilson, who holds a Master’s degree in civil engineering, was responsible for the design of Century City’s canal system for which he received an award from the Association of Consulting Engineers.
