Colonel Junaid Alcock, Table View’s new police chief, comes with 33 years of experience and says he wants to build a strong partnership with the community he serves.
He started on Monday December 12 after Brigadier Lindiwe Diyanti was promoted and moved to Mitchell’s Plain police station in October (“Table View SAPS station commander promoted,” Tabletalk, October 12).
Colonel Alcock has a Bachelor of Policing Practice degree and a national diploma in police administration. He has previously been stationed at Bishop Lavis, Athlone, and Lingelethu West police stations.
He was the station commander at Harare police station before moving to Table View.
He is part of the Western Province Bowls team and a devout Muslim.
