Horses for Causes held a high tea fundraiser called On The Lawn, at Riverside Boutique Hotel in Hout Bay on Saturday February 9.
The theme for this, its second garden party, was Kaleidoscope, carried through into the fashion, decor and styling as guests sipped coffee, cocktails and mocktails and tucked into a decadent high tea, while listening to live music interspersed with lawn games.
All funds raised went to 10 nominated charities. Horses for Causes was was created in 2015 by AndrĂ© Oosthuizen, Tracy Green and Wade Audagnotti who wanted to create a vehicle through which they could raise funds for as many as possible. Their first event was a race day held at Kenilworth Racecourse in January 2016 and, since then they have grown the project to incorporate three annual events – a golf day, On the Lawn and their annual Horses for Causes Race Day.
The committee has grown from three to five – all volunteering their time and resources to Horses for Causes. The next event, the Horses for Causes Race Day, will be taking place at Kenilworth Racecourse, on Saturday November 2.
