The Friends of the Blaauwerg Conservation Area (BCA) took this picture of an oxalis hirta. “Oxalis” means acid (from Greek oxys) and “hirta” means hairy. “It is about 7 to 9cm tall, and has beautiful white, pink and magenta flowers and is currently flowering in the Blouberg area, Sunset Beach and even on some pavements at present,” says Friends of BCA chairwoman Stephanie Muller.
