Taxi passengers came to the aid of a woman as two men robbed her in Table View on Saturday night July 2.
The woman was walking in Raats Drive when two men in their 20s approached her.
“She decided to cross the road and noticed that they were also crossing. She found this suspicious and started to run.

“They grabbed her handbag and started to run,” said Table View police spokeswoman, Captain Adriana Chandler.
To the rescue, came the taxi. It pulled up next to the woman, and the passengers piled out and started chasing the robbers, whom they placed under citizen’s arrest before handing them over to the police when they arrived.
The woman’s belongings were returned to her.
Captain Chandler said the woman had received medical attention for some injuries she suffered in the attack.
Two men, who are related, appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court in connection with the robbery.
