There was a shootout at Bayside Mall last week after burglars broke into the Dis-Chem store there.
Police arrested two men after the intruders smashed their way into the mall at about 3am on Friday.
According to Table View police spokeswoman, Captain Adriana Chandler, security personnel noticed three men inside one of the stores, loading items into trolleys.
There was a shoot-out when police arrived on the scene.
“One suspect was shot in the leg, a second arrested and the third suspect fled in a black Lexus with the firearm. The Lexus has false number plates and was found abandoned a few kilometres from the crime scene,” she said.
The burglars used a concrete drain cover to smash their way into the mall and then used a hammer on Dis-Chem store window.
The expensive perfumes valued at approximately R249 000, which they had loaded into trolleys, were later recovered.
Police say the suspects are linked to multiple business burglaries fitting the same modus operandi.
