Friday the 13th proved unlucky for three men and a women police nabbed with drugs and a book of credit-card numbers at a Blouberg hotel.
The group’s undoing was the fraudulent booking they made with the hotel on Friday January 13, said police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler.
After a bank’s forensic investigation unit flagged the booking with the police, Table View officers swooped on the hotel on Saturday January 14 and went to the room where the group was staying.
When no-one answered the door, a hotel employee let them in.Officers found the two men smoking dagga in a bedroom.
Another man and the woman were in another part of the hotel room.When the officers searched the room, they found dagga, tik, mandrax tablets and drug paraphernalia as well as notebooks with 264 credit card numbers and three-digit CVV numbers, which are found at the back of credit cards and commonly used to verify online payments.
The four, who range in age from 25 to 28, appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday January 16.
