Police warn residents about job scam

Police are warning residents about a job scam.

Milnerton SAPS have warned that there’s a job scam doing the rounds.

According to the station’s spokeswoman, Captain Nopaya Madyibi, a person going by the name of Timothy Boloko is telling people he works for the City’s law enforcement unit and promises people a job if they pay him R350. Captain Madyibi said the man has been targeting Dunoon and Joe Slovo.

“The people he had already scammed paid the money but they reported they never received anything he promised and they are not employed at the City of Cape Town.

“There are two cases already registered at Milnerton police station against him.”

Anyone with information – or who may have fallen victim to this scam – is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Jaco De Jager at Milnerton police station on 084 472 7557.
