Richwood is looking cleaner thanks to the efforts of some civic-mind residents.
Members of the Richwood Neighbourhood Watch (RNW) and Richwood Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association (RRRA) spent their Saturday morning plucking litter from green belts and parks in the area.
Armed with gloves and plastic bags supplied by the RRRA, the nine residents started at the open piece of land at the corner of Morris Shell and Woodlands drives before moving to Nederburg Park.
RNW member Tania Nielson, who is also on the RRRA executive committee, said the clean-up encouraged people to be proud of their neighbourhood.
RRRA chairman Kenneth Brookes said they planned to make the clean-up a monthly event.
