The Rietvlei Water Area will be closed to the public for a series of upcoming water sports.
The events in the vlei, which is part of the Table Bay Nature Reserve, are hosted by the Milnerton Aquatic Club (MAC).
On Saturday October 27 there will be a 12-hour sailing challenge and radio-controlled sailing.
On Saturday December 1 and Sunday December 2 there will be a windsurfing competition, and on Saturday December 8 there is an open day for junior sailing and radio-controlled sailing.
The City of Cape Town’s environmental management department will control access to the events and all spectators and visitors will have to pay conservation fees at the Rietvlei gate to enter the nature reserve.
Only event participants and club members holding valid membership cards will be allowed free access.
The fees are R16 for adults and R9 for children, seniors and students, and R24 per vehicle. Only cash will be accepted. Parking space is limited. No pets or alcohol will be allowed in the nature reserve.
