Police arrested a man pushing a trolley in Bothasig with a stolen plasma TV inside swaddled in bubble wrap.
Bothasig police spokesman Warrant Officer Jacques Mostert said constables Clifford Jaftha and Torique Nazier had been patrolling on Friday October 6 and had spotted the 34-year-old suspect.
He tried to convince the officers he had come by the TV legally, but his story fell apart and he was arrested for housebreaking when the real owner identified it.
Later that day, the two constables arrested a man running along Vryburger Avenue with six plastic garden chairs, after he had been seen jumping over a wall. The 47-year-old man could not explain where he got the chairs and was arrested for being in possession of stolen property.
