Suspected drug dealer shot dead

One of many bullet holes at the scene.

A man was shot dead in broad daylight in Koeberg Road, Brooklyn, in a suspected drug deal gone wrong on Monday July 20.

Video clips on social media showed the man slumped over in the driver’s seat of a white Toyota Corolla with a hole in his neck.

Other video clips showed bystanders crowded around the car gawking at the corpse before police arrived and cordoned off the scene.

The incident took place next to Bert’s Liquors in Koeberg Road.

Milnerton police spokesman Captain Nopaya Madyibi said the man, who is yet to be identified, was shot multiple times.

“We don’t know his age yet. A case of murder was opened for investigation and no arrests have been made,” Captain Nopaya said.

A Brooklyn resident, who did not want to be named, said the victim was a known drug dealer in the area who sold tik. She had been at the scene and said the man had been clutching money in his hand.

“This is a drug deal gone wrong,” she said.

A post on Facebook informing people about the incident said: “Apparent drug dealer shot dead in his car. Money and drugs scattered all over.”
