Roadworks are happening in Table View this month from 7.30am to 5pm on weekdays.
Byron Road, Jansens Avenue and Shelley Street are affected along with roads in Flamingo Vlei that are being resurfaced. They are Sandpiper Crescent, Bolus Road between Merriman Lane and Hof Street, Merriman Lane between Fairway and Fairbridge roads, Fairway Road between Hof Street and South Road, and Hof Street between Pentz Drive and Fairway Road.
Work areas will be temporarily demarcated to regulate traffic flow, according to a City statement.
Vehicles may be parked in the demarcated area after 5pm but must be removed before 7.30am. Vehicles obstructing work will be moved or towed away.
“The contractor is using bitumen on the roads and it is very difficult and costly to remove the material from vehicles. I therefore appeal to motorists not to park their vehicles in the demarcated areas during the day to ensure that the project runs as smoothly as possible for all,” said area north Mayco memberSuzette Little.
