There have been several thefts from cars in the Table View area in recent days.
Items were stolen from two unlocked cars at two separate complexes in Arum Road, Table View, on Friday night April 14, said Table View SAPS spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler.
On the same day, a locked car parked, with its alarm activated, outside a block of flats had its window smashed and sunglasses and a backpack with clothing, perfume, make-up, a laptop and other personal items were stolen.
In another theft in the same area on the same day, it was reported to SAPS Table View that an iPod, handbag, cash and cellphones were stolen.
The car had been locked but was found unlocked when the owners returned.
* A man was mugged at gunpoint while talking on his cellphone at the Killarney race track entrance, in Potsdam Road, on Monday afternoon, April 17.
The mugger took the phone and fled.
Captain Chandler warned of a spate of similar muggings at the intersection of Potsdam and Blaauwberg roads.
