Three arrested for stolen property

A complaint about a suspicious vehicle parked outside a Table View pub led to the arrest of two men for possession of stolen property.

Table View police officers approached the two men seated in the parked rental car shortly before midnight on Thursday July 27 and asked them to accompany them to the police station, where a USB stick was found in their possession. The information on it included a woman’s CV. Officers phoned the contact number on the CV and the woman confirmed that her handbag with personal documents, a USB and laptop had been stolen from her earlier in the day.

Police also found a bank card on the suspects that did not belong to them.

A 38-old man has been arrested for burgling a Blouberg school.

Police patrolling Bloubergstrand shortly before midnight on Tuesday July 25 spotted a nervous-looking man carrying two bags.

Table View police spokesperson Captain Adriana Chandler said the man told the officers he had picked the bags up at a refuse bin near a school.

When the officers searched the bags, they found items that appeared to belong to a school. They asked the suspect to show them where he had picked them up.

“He took them to Bloubergridge Primary in Blouberg,” said Captain Chandler.

The man was arrested for being in possession of presumed stolen property.

The following day, Bloubergridge Primary reported a burglary.

“He gained entry at the back of the school, by breaking a window, climbing through, taking the items, and escaping via the same route,” said Captain Chandler.
