■ During the past school holidays, Shannon Crous represented South Africa in show jumping and dressage. She finished second overall at the dressage and seventh in the show jumping. She also won the Provincial Schools trophy for Curro Century City, winning the most points for the South African National Equestrian Schools Association (SANESA ) competition.
