Three men were arrested yesterday for allegedly being involved in a forgery operation in Milnerton.
Traffic officers were conducting an operation in the area when they were tipped off about fraudulent driving licences being sold at an internet shop in Koeberg Road.
They followed up on the information and found a stash of fraudulent driver’s licences, vehicle license discs, temporary driving licence plate, false bank statements, asylum documentation and marriage certificates.
The officers also confiscated R12 000 in cash.
City’s traffic spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout, said: “All of the evidence was handed over to Maitland police and it later transpired that an arrest made by a traffic officer the day before for a fraudulent driving licence could be linked to the case.”
In August, a similar bust was made in Gugulethu. Â
