A 29-year-old man and 42-year-old woman are being held at Milnerton police station after they were caught, following a high-speed chase, in a stolen vehicle with weapons and drugs, say police.
According to Table View police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler, officers joined the pursuit involving Elsies River police and a “suspicious vehicle” headed towards Plattekloof Road, on Friday September 3.
“Officers immediately went to cordon off the road but failed to stop the suspects,” she said.
The chase continued on Koeberg Road where police stopped the Ford Ranger bakkie and ordered the suspects to exit.
Police say they found an unregistered gun, three gun magazines, 72 rounds of ammunition, a knife, two plastic bags of crystal meth and three cellphones in the bakkie.
The bakkie’s licence plate did not match the vehicle, and its vehicle identification number (VIN) was linked to a vehicle stolen in Lansdowne in April last year.
