A man handed himself over to the police after allegedly stabbing a woman to death in Potsdam Road early on Sunday evening, October 16.
Police found the woman’s body lying on the pavement with multiple stab wounds.
Her killer had approached her and without saying a word, stabbed her several times before fleeing and leaving the murder weapon behind, said police spokeswoman Captain Adriana Chandler.
A 24-year-old man surrendered himself to the Table View police the following morning. It is understood the woman had been in a relationship with him a few months before her death. He will appear in Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, October 19.
